Our New York team has decades of experience providing compliant fuel systems in New York City and State.  Below are a few key projects:

Wall Street Heliport

The Wall Street Heliport, located in lower Manhattan, is used for both tourist excursion flights and business air traffic. On a typical summer day this heliport experiences more takeoffs and landings than JFK International Airport. Because of increased demand, the Heliport required an upgraded aviation fueling system.

This was a complex and difficult project due to New York’s stringent environmental and safety regulations. In addition, heavy air traffic combined with the changing tides and waves coming from boats along the river made for challenging installation conditions.

Core’s unique experience and partnerships in the combined areas of high security fuel storage, aviation fueling and double-wall flexible piping systems resulted in a smooth and successful installation.

Macy’sMacys in NY City

The flagship Macy’s store on 34th street required fuel system upgrades. The Core team provided engineering support, permit assistance, and an equipment supply scope that included new fuel oil pumpsets and advanced double-wall flexible stainless steel piping.  The new SafeSite fuel oil pumpset included integrated fuel oil controls for all devices, fuel oil filtration, and vacuum line leak monitoring for the new piping.

The Core team commissioned all equipment successfully and helped the client bring their entire emergency power system into compliance with current NYC regulatory requirements.

Henry Hudson Bridge Administration and Maintenance Building

The bridge and accompanying structure opened in 1936; by 2016, the administration and maintenance building was in need of major fuel oil system upgrades. Core supplied the following for this site:

  • A 5200 gallon NYC high pressure rated UL 2085 and UL 752 listed ConVault fuel storage tank.Henry Hudson Bridge in NY
  • A SafeSite FOC fuel oil control and power distribution system for the generator.
  • A 500 gallon NYC high pressure rated UL 142 listed day tank for inside the building.
  • A second SafeSite fuel oil control system to feed the boilers.

The solutions provided by Core for this site included integrated control of all devices, level and leak monitoring for the tanks and all sump areas, and fuel oil filtration. Core provided substantial on-site support to the contractor to ensure smooth installation and start-up.

Hotel Chelsea

Hotel Chelsea, constructed in 1885 and in the National Register of Historic Places, enlisted Core to upgrade its fuel oil system. Core was able to overcome the challenge of upgrading the fuel oil system given the building’s age. Core’s comprehensive solutions included –

  • State of the art touch screen
  • User friendly SafeSite fuel oil controls and pumping systems
  • Advanced stainless flexible double-wall fuel oil piping
