Core Provides Mission Critical System for Hospital Boiler Plant on Roosevelt Island
Core Engineered Solutions has a long history and relationship with the many agencies operating throughout NYC, understanding that the ConVault technology offers the safest and most reliable aboveground fuel storage available. When the NYC Health + Hospitals started the upgrade designs to the boiler plant at Coler Hospital – ConVault was the only choice.
Core Engineered Solutions provided three 9,978-gallon ConVault aboveground storage tanks outfitted with fully assembled tank top transition sump boxes for control valve assemblies. Core provided our mission critical CMFTS Fuel Oil Control Panel mounted on a duplex fuel oil transfer pump set with integrated fuel oil filtration system; BRUGG Flexwell-HL piping between the three storage tank transition sumps and transferring product to the duplex fuel oil transfer pumps in the boiler room. Considering the weight limitations of the Roosevelt Island Bridge, it was not an option to transport the tanks utilizing normal freightliners – instead, Core coordinated the delivery and offloading of the storage tanks to the Island via barge.
